That's gonna be some intricate cutting, on that cab, mate. There's plenty of rivets, to watch out for, when sanding. But, that shorty does look good, and I don't recall ever seeing one built before?

Good luck with the surgery. I think that sanding all the rivets that are in the way and then replacing them with Quinta or Archer rivets may be easier. At least that is my plan for the WFT Freightliner.

A guy showed me a technique, for building the cab on the freight shaker, and I tried it.
Basically, you glue the two halves together, a side at a time, starting with the corner of the roof, then let that set. Go down that side and let that set. Do the same thing on the other side, then finally the roof.
Then his trick was, mask as close as you possibly can, to the joint, on both sides. Fill the gap with putty or whatever you use? Now, sand carefully, watching the tape, for the rivets. It's actually an excellent idea. The tape makes you more conscious of what you are doing.
But I also sanded my joints, on a flat sheet of glass, to get them as square as possible, to reduce filler. Hope that helps both of you, on your quests?

Okay. I had totally forgotten about the rivets. Will have to tackle that problem when I get there. 🫣

Before you go crazy with it, check the cab is square. If you remember, my Turnpike cab was twisted, so I had to buy a donor kit? It was probably from years of storage, by the previous owner, but it's worth checking, especially as you're going to a lot of work?

For some reason I have three versions of this kit. So there should be 1 that's square?

Square, as in true? Just place it on a flat surface and check that all sides touch the surface. You can also now use your new 123 blocks, to check the sides.
