Micheal, In many parts of China, there are memorial halls, temples, and monuments commemorating Chennault and the Flying Tigers.
Every year, there are also commemorative activities organized by the government or initiated by the public. I have seen news reports that veterans' children are invited to participate in these commemorative events.
As I know there are at least five memorial museums in southwest China. Hundreds of historical relics are on display. I selected some of the pictures.

Thanks for the explanation. I find these positive commemorations quite surprising as the initial support was closely related to Chiang Kai-shek and I wouldn't have been surprised if this aspect of american-chinese history would have deserved less attention in china given the relation of both countries in the aftermath of WW II. Very interesting.

The people and government really respect all those foreign friends who helped China in WWII. The Flying Tigers' contributions are part of the shared legacy from winning the World Anti-Fascist War, and they also show how China and the US stood side by side back in that special time. I think this has nothing to do with party differences.
Essentially, it is a commemoration of justice, courage and friendship, isn't it?

Fantastic work so far 👍 You take full advantage of this big scale for great details!

Following, looks great 👍 I also have this kit; are the engine and rear fuselage details all kit parts or did you add any yourself? Will you attach the cowled engine to the fuselage with the magnets provided? In none of the build reports I have seen so far has this been done, the fit is apparently too poor for this 😳

@Kenneth, The fuselage details and the engine are all included in the kit. The engine and pipeline have rich details, and I haven't made any modifications. The engine and the nose cone are interchangeable, and the kit comes with three magnets. There are three positioning holes on the fuselage, so the fit is excellent.

What a beautiful build! The engine looks remarkable. So nice that you built it so it can be displayed either way.
