The statue of liberty posture refers to an Amazon Prime series called The Man in the High Tower and plays in the fictious occupied USA after Germany and Japan won the second World War. Very interesting. I can only recommend. As most likely it will not be what you expect - no matter what you expect. 🙂
@George: I agree but the displayed skills are awesome.

Yes, they are. With airliners I would generally prefer decals over windows, particularly if authentic-airliner-decals are available.
Then if course there are classic masks as you can find them for quite a selection of civil planes. KV models offers them for quite a range. I like to fill all those fuselage windows with crystal clear resin as this gives you a seamfree appearance.
A technique I will try in the future is painting the window strip before assembly. Then you put or pour in your windows, assemble the fuselage and sand the seam. Now you can mask the whole window row with one long tape and color the rest of the fuselage - best to blend it in quite a bit away from the mask so you avoid a step here. Zbynek pointed a video series out to me which - although incredibly long (6 × 45min) - contains a lot of useful techniques and informations. Check out his beautiful Boeing 737 build. There you find the link.

Thanks Laurent and Bart.
Bart, the set was designed with limited information around and contains some significant deviation from the real thing. If you want to come closer to the real thing I highly recommend Tankograds booklet about this tank. I didn't dare to solder but it works with superglue too.
This conversion is pretty unique as only about 25 were ever made.

for the lazy ones. The cover for the engine cowling fits only without the engine installed, which is pretty useless. Pay attention to the sides, as there is a left wheel well cover and a right one.
24 June, 14:32
great addition for little money. If you only buy one aftermarket piece for your Corsair, consider this.
24 June, 14:29
designed for Hasegawa, but can be used for Tamiya with minor adjustments. Significant drawback is the lack of valve rod housings and cables.
24 June, 14:27
officially designed for Tamiya but too small in diameter to fit without modification. Meanwhile more detailed options available.
24 June, 14:26
beautifully detailed, particularly the main wheels with sagged tires. I haven´t decided yet whether I trust the tail wheel enough to withstand time and UV-exposure to replace the kits part or whether I will kit bash it. As can be seen in the above picture casting of the tail wheel is of a different level compared with the main ones. I you care check tire patterns if they match your intended version.
24 June, 13:30
Great set which alleviates one of the disappointments of the scale 1:72 Tamiya Corsair - namely the missing option to build it with flaps down. Good fit, but it requires quite a bit of scraping of the respective wing halfes and will have a tendency to warp the wings a bit when glued together - resulting in slight fit issues at the wing-fuselage junction.

Guido, a Forex isn't really necessary. For some stuff it has advantages but you can use acrylic or styrene boards too. You can scribe them and achieve pretty nice results with them too.

Launcher is pretty crude and lacks a lot of details. The rocket is done beautifully and a nice replica. Careful. IMHO the connections between the big fins were installed for transport only.
10 June, 20:26
A bit pricey and requires some work but the result is superb. The provided wire was too short. Highly recommended.
10 June, 20:17
The kit deserves all the praise it got. Builds nicely into a splendid replica of this east european workhorse.
10 June, 20:12
Excellent figure in traditional resin casting. Flawless cast, very good detail. Highly recommended.

F72304 2016 New tool 3 June, 18:30
Goes well together but has a few flaws. Front suspension lacks a "crucial" part (meanwhile available as aftermarket). Shape of tank not correct. Rear axle sits quite low. Good fit.
3 June, 18:26
No shake'n'bake-kit. I found the fuselage too small for the canopy and widened it with shims. Basic interiour. Decals have blurry edges, particularly the red ones.
3 June, 18:23
It does help with the paint job but it is by no means a carefree solution. By nature it is (very) difficult to conform the masks to all the nooks and crannies, thus requiring quite a bit of further masking work with tape and fluid. Recommended with reservations

PPA5108 3 June, 18:21
Designated for Dragons Leopard 2A6 they serve Revells one too and lift both models to another level. Check references as you won't need all parts for all 2A6 Leos. Recommended.
3 June, 18:15
I am not an expert on the Leo but what I found during my build was a very good representation of turret and hull. Disappointed were the incorrectly shaped road wheels and the big effort it took to align them. The (in)famous Revell tank tracks pose a challenge here too. Luckily you can at least hide the upper connection behind side skirts.
3 June, 18:12
Gives you nice - and real - cables with correct and easy to trim cable ends. Recommended.
3 June, 18:08
Top job by Miniart. Builds out of the box into a very beautiful and detailed replica. Take care when assembling the wheels. I had to cut out a bit from the rim of the PE parts to make them conform to the desired shape. Decals were a disappointment. Too coarse and printed out of register, I highly recommend to replace them with Archer transfers or the like.
3 June, 18:05
Nice kit. Solder it if you can. Otherwise it requires very careful handling as contact areas are small. Resin parts are not without flaws and I had some difficulty to align the horizontal beams and the wheels so that they all touched ground. Chains are PE parts and thus only twodimensional. Recommended.

Excellent kit. The new resin parts are a perfect match for this reissue and are cast immaculate. The resin bending templates for the wing leading edges are a smart addition and a great help. The only improvement I can imagine right now are 3D printed spoke wheels.
Would be great to see other Stripdown models being reissued in a similar way.
3 June, 17:53
Long out of production. A reissue like the Fokker Dr. I with resin parts would be very welcome. The plastic parts that come with the kit regularly appear too coarse (struts) and/or lack detail (like the engine cowling). If you love PE - this is for you.
3 June, 17:48
Incredible detail for that scale, beautifully cast. I look for Mini World guns on all of my scale 1:72 builds.

3 June, 17:42
Beautiful kit. Fairing between engine and wings are a bit tricky. If looking for an exact replica check references. I assume that color recommendations for the cockpit are based on a replica snd call out for wood, while the original racers cockpit was colored black IMHO. Decals are nice to work with but are not completely opaque.
3 June, 17:40
Beautiful tire pattern. Separate rim halfes of the main gears makes painting a bit easier. Recommended.
3 June, 17:34
Air intake and exhausts were a bit tricky. Don't forget the weight in the nose. The rest builds nicely.

3 June, 17:29
Beautiful kit. Crisp, almost flawless casting and very good fit make it a joy to build. The PE parts add another layer of details. Instructions are clear enough. I struggled with the windows. Cast clear resin parts would have been nice for them. A diagram for the hoses would have been appreciated.
3 June, 17:24
Kabuki paper. They do what they are intended to do. Here and there the cuts are not complete and thus require trimming.
3 June, 17:21
Beautiful little kit. Wing root and merging the nice resin parts in properly require a bit of attention, as does the tight cockpit. The only omission I figured are the oleo struts of the landing gear (check the instructions of the 1:48 kit of the same manufacturer. There they are included)
1 3 June, 17:18
The only game in town. Builds into a nice replica already out of the box. A challenge are the tracks which are not easy to put in place.
3 June, 17:14
This is not a genuine Tamiya kit and this shows. Particular challenging was flushing the canopy with the fuselage. The canopy frame is too coarse and looks better when sanded down. Check your references in case you strive for an exact replica as I deem the color suggestions for wheel wells and cockpit given in the instructions as incorrect.
3 June, 17:12
Old fashioned resin upgrade with casting errors. But otherwise a nice updetailing addition.

MR-Modellbau from Germany offers some nice conversion and detail sets and add ons for Braille russian armour, particularly the T-34.
Taking it out of the blister you will receive 10 roadwheels with 2 halfes on each casting block. The late production road wheels are nicely detailed and resemble the real thing very well as far as I can judge after comparison with photographic evidence.
Casting: Casting blocks are far from subtle but can be clipped off easily and sanded smooth. Bubbles are quite an issue. Not just on the inward facing side, but on the rubber rims and the outward facing side – particularly at the hub – too. Actually there was not a single wheel which did not require touch ups. Other companys show a much higher standard here. At my set the holes to accommodate the axles on the inward facing half of the wheel were off center in about half of the wheels. I filled all with styrene strips and drilled the holes anew. Diameter and depth of the drill holes do not fit the axles of the Dragon T-34/85 well. But this might count only for the Dragon kit.
Conclusion:
MR-Modellbau offers a very welcome addition in Braille scale. Improvements in casting would be much appreciated.

I build the D9 from Balaton-Models released in 2011 and it build like a charm. Crisp, almost flawless casting and great fit. So cracking open the box on this 2016 release was a disappointment. Rather soft detail, some warping, paticularly of the frame, quite some flash and a rather mediocre fit made separating and cleaning of the parts tedious and assembly too. Definitely not a kit for a modeller seeking instant gratification.
Be aware: You do NOT get what's written on the box: designation of the kit lacks an A (the K-700 (without an A) looks significantly different). The box art has it right and depicts a Kirovets K-700A - and that's what's in the box.

Nice idea but diappointing for various reasons.
First, I usually paint the main camouflage and add details later. I assume that most modellers proceed in a similar way. But that's not how these masks work. Here it is required that the details the masks cover are painted first and then be covered for the main job. I tried to use the surroundings of the respective masks but they are so crammed on the sheet that this was pretty challenging.
Second issue I have with this set is that the cuts are not precice and the masks do not separate without resistance from the sheet. Tears and frays are the result. Due to the tiny nature of the masks some are quite difficult to trim afterwards.
My suggestions to Clearprop:
- assure clean cuts in the future
- redesign the set so that the outer borders can be used as masks. I am sure this will serve the majority of modellers better than the current design.
12 March, 14:20
Very nicely detailed set. Be careful where to cut the exhaust parts as you might be left without a rim to fit into the grove of the fuselage. Clearprop doesn't indicate that.

I really cherished the release of these figures. But as nice as the idea of early Bundeswehr soldiers is, as disappointing is the execution. Price is quite high, print is fine but the posture of neither driver nor co-driver fits onto the seats of the ICM Unimog - for which these figures are said to have been designed. To make them fit modifications at the seat (cushions) or the figures are mandatory. A real nuisance.
