Michael KohlPretty good result for a first try on this kind of task.
I acquired a bust of a Nepalese boy and gather now the same kind of information you've been looking for. But first of all I gather courage to tackle that completely new challenge.

Erwin Leetink AuthorThis one has been on the shelves being nearly done for a couple of months now. It was only waiting for a plinth, but finally I found a suitable one and mounted the bust. The name plate will follow in time.
It is a well known bust of a SAS machinegunner in the North African desert made by Young miniatures.
The biggest challenge for me lied in the depiction of the sun burned/bronzed skin in a convincing manner.
I couldn't get the ammo to convincingly be mounted, so I left it off.

Erwin Leetink AuthorMy current project at hand is a 1:10 bust of a SS machine gunner.
The face is done, and so are helmet and smock. These were, in my opinion, the hardest parts... I have never painted any eichenlaub camouflage before, but am very satisfied with the results thus far!

Recently I started working on the RFM Sturmtiger, as part of a future diorama I have in mind. I want to replicate the following picture, where a Bergepanther has the Sturmtiger in tow. One source states that this took place in the UK. This is plausible as the Sturmtiger from Sturm-Mörser-Kompanie 1001 was captured by the US army in Oberembt near Düren and send to Bovington. Later it has been scrapped.
I started with the details of the casemate and having finished that one I came to the hull...
I added the Attak Zimmerit to the front, sides and rear. The only thing I cannot determine is if the front of the glacis also had Zimmerit or not. I therefore left it off.
What I find a bit of a let down of the kit, is that both the drivers' position and the rear bulk head were left out. Apparently there are 2 versions of the kit: one with a full interior (including an engine) and one that has some of it. The choice what is in there or not seems rather random.
A clear roof has been included to show all those goodies, but not all the goodies themselves.
