That chrome paint is fantastic looking. I can't wait to see the finished build.

After the pink ate into the chrome, I had it stripped and started over.

What chrome paint can you recommend? I've heard much praise for Revell's spray can chrome, but that's something I'd have to look far and wide for. Not too experienced with this stuff, but I'd love to have a few Horchs sitting on my shelves

So, is the entire car going to be chrome? You mentioned pink, any reference for your paint scheme? In my experience, anything touching chrome dulls it or wipes it away instantly, maybe do the chrome last?

That's fantastic!

@Herr Molotow gives a great result and is an ink. It just needs a lot of time to cure and even then it's susceptible to fingerprints. It works fine as a base coat for Alclad candy colours. The Revell is a paint. Once decanted you can easily thin it 50-50 with mr self levelling thinner and get great coverage.

@Bossy. The idea is to do a pink candy. Candy paints need a silver/chrome base layer. That's what I've done here. The Splash Paints Pink Candy ate into the Revell chrome, so now I'll be using Molotow with Alclad.

I'll give it a shot once the courage is mustered. Thanks!

I missed this, in my plight to be Gardener of the Year!
I'm keen to see how these turn out? A buddy recently told me that the Revell chrome also dulls? First time I've heard that, so if you come across it, I'd like to hear about it?

And she has some colour on her. The Alclad candy worked really well over the Molotow chrome. Back under cover to dry and cure.

That's a cool BMW, here in China they call them "Bombers".

With the racing seats, racing belts are needed. Having the choice between orange, black and green, green it was.
Fiddly work, but not too hard. Installing them would have been much easier, if I had done the roll cage after the seat belts. Now it was threading the belts.
The Aoshima wheels look nice, but both the kit and the wheels have a female connection. Some artistic liberties where used…
