Well, you've opened the box. That's how it all starts.
Now you take a snipper, some sandpaper and some glue. If you use those in the right sequence, you end up with a truck
.
It has been a while for you, so I thought you needed some help 😝

Just killing some time mate. This is going to be as rough as they get.
I'll update the pictures, before I get ready to go back to the hospital. Apparently, this storm has been named Florin, a Danish name? Let's hope that the gods are with me, for the next few days?

I sure hope your visits to the hospital is because that's where your paychecks come from Bozzer. I'm joining here to see if your work can inspire me to some day try building something this big

Yngve, Pick one up cheap (secondhand?) and give it a go. Consider the different pieces as separate builds, e.g. chassis, engine, cab. The end result is just bigger.

Yingy, Martin is indeed correct. Build a straight from the box kit, and separate it into three different builds. You'll find yourself very busy at first, then suddenly, a huge truck will confront you and you have to add decals! It's a fabulous experience, and a great sense of achievement. Do a little research, so you don't choose a hard kit, to start with. I'm biased, because I'm all about the American trucks, however, I'd say that the AMT International 3400 is a safe kit to try. Personally, I get great satisfaction from the Revell Peterbilt 359 range, but they can be fiddly? And you can always reach out to me or any of the guys on here, for help and advice?

Oh, I nearly forgot!
Another cool kit is the Atlantis Mack AC. They're highly detailed and are still very popular. Sure, it's an old truck, but you'll have great fun doing that, and it'll give you a taste of the big stuff. They don't take up much shelf space either?

Bozzer has been trying to influence me since I first logged into Scalemates, Martin. I'm sure it will pay off eventually 😉

Some say, that I'm a bad influence?
I prefer to say, that I'm a small part of encouragement 😉

It's when you start buying trailers, that the reality hits you! They look so cool, when they're hooked up.

If you want to go Euro, this one has a one piece chassis: DAF XF Super Space Cab (Italeri 3834, 1:24)
A bit easier on the build, a bit harder on painting.

Or of course, there's the Volvo VN, which is also a curbside kit? Again, it's down to availability in your country?
8 August, 11:31
Lol, I had to have one though! I've heard it described as a kid's kit, so I bought it! We're all kids at heart, we just have grown up money 😉

Thanks guys. I'll ask the wife for a bigger apartment first 😉 availability in my country is kinda none. So far every kit is bought abroad. I think there's one physical store. They're good on tools and trains, but so far not a single kit that I wanted. I know I'm weird...
8 August, 12:40
Weird? You'll fit right in then! You could try Amazon or one of the online options, that post to your country? Or another way is, to see if anyone on here is selling the kit?

passion132.com/gb/ and plastmodel.pl/ are relatively cheap. I don't know if shipping to Norge is cheap though…
1 8 August, 12:49
Amazon doesn't post here, but Sweden is literally 12 minutes drive from here and I've received shipments there. In a couple of weeks I'm ready for hobby again and I'm awaiting an Renault 16 kit, almost as old as me

Currently, the wife is on a slow recovery, but positive steps. Thanks for asking, kind sir 👍
