...this is underway, but slowly, because there are a lot of extra parts and the aftermarket deck calls for a different sequence of assembly than normal....just getting started...

...with regret...a postponed Olympia...there is just not enough space in this work area for this kit, with two kit copies and the wooden deck and the photoetch.....so, this one will be put on the shelf for a bit...

...the more i see the incorrect black portholes on the hull and see my inadequate attempt at weathering...the more i want to strip the hull and start over....

...the hull got a repaint and refinish months ago and its time for the Olympia to get more work in the dry dock here...

...a firm commitment has been made to this ship....but....a ship model can be complex with all the PE coming up, etc...so a break...but...this will get its mojo back soon enuff...

Absolutely agree 100%. I'm at the end of my 1/350 Indianapolis and I'm drained. Decent kit, but I have two full sheets of PE on it already and the rails and rigging or plane haven't been started yet. I built this one in subsections to keep interest, but it has been a longer journey than I anticipated. For example between PE and plastic each gun is 10+ pieces and on a Cruiser that's a job in itself. I'm sure I will be pleased when all is said and done, but yes, a break from ships is in order.
