Spitfire Mk.IXe RK855 (FT-C) of "The Fighting Cocks" No. 43 Squadron (A Flight) flown by W/O Alan G. Edwards (RAAF - Royal Australian Air Force) when while stationed at Lago Airfield (near Naples), during an armed reconnaissance mission on 22 February 1945 between 0810-0935 it strafed and damaged 2 armed barges on the Berra canal in the Po Valley, a vital logistics network for the German army in Italy.
