Kamov Ka-26 is a very unusual light helicopter with two M-14V-26 piston engines. It has many unusual features such as coaxial main rotors, modular structure (rear part of the helicopter fuselage can be removed and replaced with various special modules), two piston engines in big round nacelles, two tail booms configuration and other. In Soviet times Ka-26 was often found on the pages of magazines, books about aviation and on postage stamps and other souvenirs, so I first saw it when I was a kid, In 2000s Ukrainian Amodel issued a model of this helicopter in 1;72 in cargo and passenger versions. Amodel is a short run models producer, so their models are mostly a limited edition and Ka-26 disappeared from sale somewhere in early 2010s. I managed to buy only a cargo version which featured open cargo bed, like on a usual ground truck or pickup, instead of passenger pod. The assembly wasn't an easy task, but the result is a small and different heli-truck on the shelf that looks like nothing else among other small helicopters.
