All four figurines assembled and cleaned up of mould seams. Poses carefully constructed trial fitting weapons during assembly for realistic fit. Weapons and accoutrements similarly cleaned up seams, sprue mount points. Overall I was astonished at the quality of these figures considering the 49 years elapsed this year since their release. Miniscule flash despite no doubt they are the much used original moulds.

Particularly commendable for IJM figurines considering the technology of the day with which they must have been sculpted and moulds made. Japanese artisan sculpting. The faces are passably oriental and the action poses are superb. One's ability at facepainting will be the definitive factor in bringing these to life.

Whilst they are not of the ilk of the very best of contemporary figurines from Modelkasten, Dragon Gen 2 slide moulded or the very latest from Tamiya, nevertheless in my view they still scrub up sufficiently well for suspension of disbelief in any 1/35 diorama. Wishing Tamiya did a 1/35 Japanese WWII Army/Navy figure decal set as they do for the WWII Wehrmacht/SS.
