Ruston Proctor has produced around 1600 aircrafts. The 1000th aircraft was a Camel with serial B7380.
This Camel was painted in an ancient Egyptian scheme! It has bright gold feather sunbursts on the wings, a pair of eyes on the cream engine cowl, a fuselage encircled with black outlined bands of light green, dark green and dark blue, two colour undercarriage struts and coloured wheel disks. The company name is on the nose and wings.
First flight was on 25th January 1918. Some pics available of that day.
On 1st February there was a "party", a picture shows this Camel with a crowd of workers.
There was a marketing brochure that showed the aircraft in colour. Hand-coloured photos? I would love to have that brochure! I know only that Andrew Kemp own one.
