Boeing 281 (P-26 Peashooter export model) of the Spanish Republican Air Force (F.A.R.E ). A single aircraft (which arrived in Spain as a test model) took part in the early Civil War without much luck, having been shot down in one of its first combats. According to some historians, the synchronization mechanism for the machine guns was faulty or it arrived without it, so a pair of 7.7 mm Vickers guns were installed in the wings (this could be in pods under the wings, directly suspended in this position, or internal to the wings. I have represented this last option.)
