This looks like a pretty neat kit although back in the day I think Italeri and Tamiya were off scale and more like 1/32 than 1/35. A lot of those older kits have bigger figures than say DML. This looks like a neat kit though and it includes a metal barrel. Its a new mold so we shall see.

It's not great. New molds or not, manufacturer is easily identifiable, which is telling. Good thing figurine overscale shall not bother you as much with this one since they are absent completely. The kit without a doubt echoes the nineties, yet, predominantly for being the only choice (as ever with Italeri), you can procure it without a rue. I did. I regret nothing.

I used to get a kick out of how popular the Italeri Sdkfz 7 kit in the early white box was. I had the old kit, it was dead stock. I remember the fenders and the frame, the plastic was warped and it did not go together well at all. Before there were other choices, that kit would sell on ebay for more than it was worth. I never understood that after building one and basically tossing it in the trash because I never could fix the warping in the plastic when I was a kid.

Warping is certainly something you won't stumble on building this kit, thankfully. I don't blame anyone for trashing warped kits regardless of builder's age or experience - it is thEE pinnacle of frustration. My Tiger 6600 by Dragon has it on several segments, let's just say I did not relish combating that. Not as bad as Ark/Old Zvezda/Vostochny Express/MSD I used to have lying around (all disposed off now), but I'd rather never see that again, frankly.

It also reminds me of the early ICM kits. That Ural-4320 with the 100m field gun was another headache with its warped frames. It was another I tossed after trying to fix it several times years ago and the field guns parts were warped and did not fit well together either. On top of that the plastic looked like it really did come out of the communist block and was very brittle and some parts looked melted or the mold process messed up. Way off topic but it had the same problems. Its good that ICM graduated to better quality though as they matured. Their modern kits are like night and day to the old ones. A lot of those brands you mentioned I have experienced too. You also have to watch out for reboxings of a lot of those kits.

Commie bloc plastic was/is actually a thing - before Hutin begun acting up in the usual Tsarist/Vozhd' fashion, Miniart, based in Crimea prior to the annexation, procured their plastic supplies from Russia. From the moment they relocated to Kiev, the quality ramped up significantly so, and look at them now (although relocation to Poland in 2022 is not to be ignored either, they're STILL getting better). Even modern Zvezda kits simply have no shot comparing to them, and Zvezda has indeed improved massively over the years. Similar story happened to ICM, pretty much.
I also appreciate the forewarning, but I probably know what's in the kit the moment I see the box. My brain is that fried up on the hobby at this point.

I agree, I have Miniart T-55 with the full interior to get too and several figure kits. I also have a Ukrainian Kozak armored car with 3 figure kits included. It is by far one of my top favorite model companies. I will say I built a few old Eastern Express helicopter kits and while not the best, they did go together well and many of the aircraft they have modeled cannot be found elsewhere. IBG from poland is really nice to for aircraft and armor you cannot find elsewhere and the detail is nice. Their TKS tankette kits are the best going.

True that, IBG is a great company. Been eyeballing their Bedford fuel tanker for a while now, probably should go ahead and buy along with BM's Spitfire

Yeah their bedford looks nice. Really beats the antique tamiya trucks. I found IBG when I bought their 1/72 PZL.23B . It was nice in that the interior was very nice and had photoetch all for under $25. I want IBG's TKS which also comes with a crew and full interior for about $26.

Yep, TKS shall be procured the moment it is available
