Well, blowing the dust off - again.
This is really on the home stretch now in the mean time. Painted, weathered and waiting for end-assembly.
I'll upload some of the painting-in-progress pics I found in my cloud, not much of a build blog but thats how things go sometimes...
@Jennifer: I use a pristine straight blade perpendicular to carefully scratch down the seam, most important to keep a steady, smooth motion, gets hard to correct if you create a bumpy surface by vibration during scratching.
I continue this until there is no trace of a seam or sink mark left. After that I use my 2000-10000 grit wet grind set. If scratching went smooth its mostly just a polish. (some canopies are so badly seamed together though that you leave a flat area on top through extensive scratching. Which you have to sand round again to blend it back in)
Before I did the polishing with tamiya compound, and even before that I used a cotton wool bud with whitening tooth paste to polish, worked as well.
I think its easy to do but understand a lot of modellers are afraid to ruin the canopies. Helps to practice this on spare parts.
