Personal Interest: During the 1980s, I honestly was not aware of the different variants and capabilities of Soviet ICBMs, only that they posed an existential threat to our way of life. The SS-19 is a 4th-generation liquid fueled rocket, but takes only 25 minutes to prepare for launch. It can be delivered from a mobile launcher, making them extremely difficult to target.
