Roland Sachsenhofer AuteurA few pictures of a project that is out of the ordinary, both thematically and technically: this Messerschmitt M17, historically the first aircraft designed by the young Messerschmitt, is made of cardboard. I am currently trying my hand at the art of sanding a round tyre out of several layers of cardboard 🙂 The propeller is borrowed from an Academy Nieuport, scaled down and painted with a dry brush. Now I will carefully sand down the edges and use a brush and paint to blend in some of the visible paper. The M17 is being built from the sheet from 'Reimers Modellbaubogen'.

Roland Sachsenhofer AuteurNow this project has also come to an end – the change was worth it, even though I would really like to be able to build models like this in plastic. And in 1:24 scale, no less! 🙂
For a size comparison, I was once again able to win Laurel and Hardy.

Roland Sachsenhofer AuteurWow, actually, "papermates" really does exist! Very cool, I didn't know that... 🙂 However, the propeller is made of plastic, so it's a real border crosser, a model amphibious, so to speak.
