Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat: Operation Torch 1942

Tamiya 1/48 carrier fighter, built as an example from VGF-29 aboard the carrier USS Santee using weighted tyres from ResKit and US Navy fuselage roundels with yellow outer rings from MicroScale Decals. This particular Wildcat featured here crashed was flown by US Navy Ensign William P. Naylor with VGF-29 from the carrier USS Santee during Operation Torch in November 1942. The plane nosed over on landing at a base in Morocco and got stuck in the mud, with the pilot was then taken as a Prisoner of War after the accident.
