Battlestar Galactica (Original Series)

Built OOB using the kit decals. Unfortunately the kit decals had a lot of trouble sticking and some have peeled. I built this kit for a monthly theme of "Heavyweights" at my modeling club. I figure a 20 million ton Battlestar counts as a heavyweight. I added launching vipers to one side and replaced the flimsy kit stand with a wooden plaque, info panels and brass tubes. The Launching vipers are made with florist wire, sheet plastic wings/tail and a bit of cotton as the exhaust. The floral wire is used for the fuselage of the viper, the cotton wrapped exhaust trail and the wire is used to mount the vipers in the launch bay.
