A MAN M1001 truck with a M790 Erector Launcher and a MGM-31 Pershing II getting ready to fire.
I grew up next to the base (Mutlangen). We were always told that we would have 8 minutes until the Soviet SS-20 missiles would arrive.
Great kit, mediocre instructions.

Amazing diorama! How did you make the trees? And how about the kit? I'm also thinking of buying this kit

@Adam J.

The trees are from a company called NOCH (noch.com/).
They come frome model railways. But I think they fitted nicely.

The kit is good. Nice fit. Goes together easily. The instructions are ok - but not perfect.
And there is no option for having the missile in launch position. You have to figure out how to do this yourself.

Great build on an obscure topic, the PII. I was stationed at Hardt Kaserne Dec 83 to Dec 86 and did the transition from PIa to PII. Unfortunately, the Model Collect and I Love Models do not do a good job of describing the system in the transport, hide and firing configurations. The electrical connection to the 30KW on the tractor and the cables to the Platoon Control Center are not shown in the kits. There is also no pallet cover included with the kits which would have been stored under the forward part of the EL on the ground. The kits should also come with a couple of protestors :^) Glad to see your work. It brings back a lot of memories.

@JW Thank you for your comment. I grew up close to Mutlangen and remember the systems going by on the road. But I was a child and do not remember all the details. But it was fun researching the systems a bit.
