Lol, I haven't made the in-scale 12V batteries to connect to the starter yet!

Starting another photo album for the finished product(s)... just the engine for now, before it gets permanently installed in the chassis.

And people wonder why I drink? I've watched this entire engine being built, dissected, transformed, and worked into a masterpiece! I'm seriously considering giving up plastic models and becoming a p*rn star? I'd probably have better success in the finished job?

Haha Bozzer stop pretending you don't already have an OnlyFans...

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Credit where it's due mate. You go from strength to strength 100%

May I ask what you used for the drive belt? Looks very realistic, much better than the clunky AMT normal stuff.

Thanks guys!

Lately, I've been using 1/16" gridding tape (Amazon) for serpentine belts. It's a little on the wide side for 6k automotive belts, but does the job quite nicely for 8k truck belts.

I had to Google that product, but on our side of the pond, it's Whiteboard tape. In honesty, I didn't even know that it existed?
Every day is a school day.
Now here's a bit of a scoop. There's a rubber-like resin, that I'm looking into. I think that it's possible to recreate timing belts, etc, in our scales. I've just gotta pluck up the nads to order it, then mess around with some sizes and see how low I can go with the measurements, before it won't work? My concern is though, if I can pull it off, will it put too much pressure on the engine parts, and cause them to break off?

Thank you Brandon I'll look into getting some. I'm gearing up to start a Freightliner Cabover soon and will at least try to detail it nicely.

Bozzer: do you mean something like this: amazon.com/dp/B0BL94Z7T2 ?

If so I've had the same thought, just print some out close to the size needed and let the stretch do it's thing. I'd attach pulley's with the head and part of a pin for strength.

Clair, yes, a very similar product. It's not cheap, but I plan to print a small toothed belt and see if I can pull it out of the bag? I had thought about doing a solid belt and cutting it, to make fitting easy. Something along the lines of like a tank track? However, the clean up would be awkward, in such a fine part. Then I came across this rubber resin and it kinda ticked all the boxes. I'm currently having fun with my Anycubic Black, ABS-LIKE resin. The prints are coming out awesome. However, on something like a belt, I'd like a little more elasticity.
Obviously, I'm thinking about belts for turbochargers and timing belts, but if I can nail it, I might have a try at fan belts etc, too?
And yes, I agree with you about strengthening the part, with a metal pin. It also seems like the logical thing to do, to me too 👍
