Beautiful figures! What method did you use to repaint them?

Thank you, @Adam J.

Repainting is actually a laborious and often thankless task. In many cases, it's more time-efficient to just buy a new kit and start over from scratch, haha.

First, you need to determine the original painting method. If it was brushed on, the paint layer will be quite thick. You'll need to sand down the heavily coated areas with 800-grit sandpaper. For detailed areas like fabric folds, you may need to use a cutting tool and files to recarve the details (if precision is required, that's the way to go—if you're more casual about it, just sanding off the paint may suffice).

If the original was sprayed with nitro-based lacquer, you can try carefully wiping it off with a solvent (be sure to control the contact time, as leaving it on too long may damage the plastic surface). Still, to achieve a smooth finish, it's best to lightly sand with fine-grit sandpaper afterward. Once you've confirmed that the original paint has been completely removed, spray on a gray primer to check the details. If everything looks good, you can proceed with painting it like a new model.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, I have another question. What paints did you use?

@Adam J.
For figure painting, I prefer using water-based paints, mostly from the AV (Vallejo)brush-on series. Of course, I also supplement with some compatible domestic water-based acrylic paints.

AV water-based paints have a good matte finish and work well whether thinning with water or applying thicker coats for dry brushing.
