you are actually going to make this bird flap its wings? really interesting to see that. where do you get those components if i may ask?

Thank you everyone!
@Spanjaard, for the wing folding part, I used eyeglass hinges. The motor and lead screw assembly likely comes from a retractable camera module of a smartphone, though I'm not entirely sure—I found it online. The small circuit board is a simple stepper motor driver, made by an electronics hobbyist. I also found it online.

what is that small Linear Actuators going to do the wing folding ? retractable camera module ? or it from lens focus ring ? can you show some video how it moved ?

Kinda worried the anchor points of the actuators might rip off, there will be a lot of forces involved...

Pic18 is the sketch, but the space is not enough for my parts, so the wings can only fold 75-80 degrees.
@AI engine, I guess it's the motor for the pop-up camera of a mobile phone.

This is neat stuff! Seeing some of your other builds, I have to ask. Are you an engineer at all? If you're not, maybe you should be. Your work is amazing! 😁

Haha Mike, thank you. I studied some engineering courses in university, but my job isn't in that field. Building models has totally jolted my inner engineer awake - lol

And now it's done, just like that. 👍
I would love to see a short video of the plane folding/unfolding the wings.

I agree with Christoph, the wing folding deserves a video 👍👍

Lorraine, That is beautiful work and details in your Corsair. Always blown away with your creative ideas.

I cannot find the adequate words to describe your ingenuity, superhuman skills, and talent, Lorraine... Simply, you are a genius! Chapeau bas!

Beautiful and inspirational. The electromechanical stuff is great and so is the modeling. Thank you for sharing on scalemates!

Wow! Fantastic work 👍
Did you use an USB-Connector underneath the engine for control?
1 22 September, 18:57
Thank you Mates!
@Sven Doe, Yes, I used a USB Type C cable for power and control.

Great idea and top engineering. Nice video. At the Hahnweide we saw the Corsairs foldvtheir wings while taxiing. Nice display there and here.

Wow, impressive! How smoothly everything moves... 👍
Can you tell me where you get the parts from?
25 September, 18:57
Hi Erik, the stepper motor and screw assembly should be for a pop up camera of a phone. I bought it from taobao.com, similar parts also available in ebay. Key word is "5mm stepper motor linear screw slider".

OK Lorraine - this isn't just next level modeling, it's light-year modeling! I thought your Back to the future diorama was amazing, but this just topped it! Well done!
