Hi guys,
This is my attempt at Tamiya's F-35A kit in 1/72. This kit is a real gem from an engineering perspective my only real complaint is that the decals are on the thick side, in typical Tamiya fashion.
I followed Tamiya's instructions regarding the main shades of grey which helped matching the decals colors.
This was quite the departure from the cold war aircrafts I usually build and I can't say I'm convinced by the grey on grey on grey trend on modern aircraft.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Thanks Neuling, I'll try to snap a few more next time I set up the photo booth.

Beautiful! I seem to notice that the canopy is slightly tinted. Did you spray it with some ink, or was it provided like this?

Thank you guys,
@Thomas. I sprayed several layers of clear orange, purple and smoke from Tamiya and Mr Hobby. The effect is a bit too subtle, I wish I had sprayed a few more layers.
The canopy was also polished with Tamiya wax to enhance the shine.

Looks menacing and nice but the intakes being being grey ruins the illusion a little bit. Otherwise it looks 1:1 to the real bird 👍

Thanks Guy and Kesa.
@Kesa, I'm not sure what you mean regarding the intake. The F-35 doesn't have visible compressor blades for stealth reason and the air duct is white/light grey.
See theaviationist.com/2..elgium-f-35-delayed/ for exemple

Oh my bad, I thought the compressor blades would be visible like on the F/A-18 or F-16
