Personal Interest: A U-2C similar to the one involved in the 1960 incident over the Soviet Union was on display at the SAC Museum near Offutt AFB in my home state of Nebraska. As a child, I greatly admired that aircraft and was fascinated by stories of bold U-2 overflights of the Soviet Union and Cuba.

Model Specifications: This model represents the U-2C piloted by Francis Gary Powers that was shot down near Sverdlovsk by a S-75 (SA-2) in 1960.
