This will be a sistership that will accompany my Airfix Blackburn Buccaneer in 809nas markings that I built a number of years ago and was my first model in the HMS Ark Royal Collection.

The weapons set that Im using will be a set of WE177A thermal nuclear bombs.
A friend of mine sent me this set a few years ago and back then it was new, its the Freightdog WE177A and bomb bay fairing set as a surprise.

I have already used the WE177 dispensers on the S.2C build.
The rest of that set will be mounted into the bombay and will hopefully cover up most of the undetailed bombay.

Also I know the S.1 was only ever capable of carrying the Red Beard bomb but I wanted to use the resin fairings included in the Freightdog set otherwise they may have gone to waist.

Aircraft information:
The Hawker-Siddeley Buccaneer was developed by Blackburn for the Royal Navy in the 1950s and was produced by Hawker-Siddeley after that company was acquired. The Buccaneer was designed to attack enemy ships at low altitudes with nuclear and conventional bombs. The occasion was the Soviet Sverdlov-class light cruisers, which were seen as a particular threat to British trade. Instead of new British cruisers, they relied on aircraft that could attack such cruisers at low altitude from the aircraft carriers. The bomb load was carried in an internal bomb bay. A total of 211 machines were built for the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and South African Air Force from 1961-77. The Buccaneer flew with the Royal Navy from 1962-78,

The first Buccaneer S.1 had underpowered engines and were therefore replaced by the S.2 version with a more powerful engine with lower fuel consumption. In the Navy, Buccaneers flew from the HMS Eagle, HMS Ark Royal and HMS Hermes . After the decommissioning of the last conventional British Aircraft Carrier, the HMS Ark Royal, all of the Navy's Buccaneers and Phantoms were transferred over to the RAF, They were eventually retired in 1994.
