Refueling of the Crusader
CW-16, Refueling 1967, KA-3B to F-8C

On 18 July 1967 Lt Cdr Tom Maxwell and his crew get feet dry in their KA-3B to refuel the fuel starved F-8C of Lt Cdr Dick Shaffert of VF-111 Sundowners. This incident is described in Tom Maxwells book Grandfather's Journal as well as in A-3 Skywarrior Units of the Vietnam War, where this is depicted on the frontcover.
