The paints of the last projects are not really dry yet and first parts of the next project are glued 😎
You really keep the airbrush wet 👍

Nice to have your on board 😊
@bughunter: The sight of an empty workbench would be too sad 😂

I'll definitely take a close look at the construction of the Wildcat.

Hardly more than a month in. I wish that I could make things even half as efficiently.

In my experience there are some keys factors for a successful use of those decals: glossy surface below, use of the blue cap Gunze setter (it seems to act as additional glue, as it looks like thinned white glue) and remove the carrier after 8 to 10 hours. Earlier it is not dry, later the decal gets dry and harder. All of them were mentioned in the Eduard Info journal in an article about the new decals. I don't have the exact issue number at hand (I linked it here on Scalemates already in build logs).

Found the article I mentioned in my posting above: info.eduard.com/en/05-2021-2/page-52

Hi Johannes! There are many ways to successfully manage carrier film removal on eduard decals ... in my opinion the key and the only important thing is in surface preparation and perfect setting. I polish the gloss varnish with a 3000grit sponge in the area of the decal application if the surface is kind of rough (like it looks on your pictures) so small air bubbles will be pushed out during application. Decal must be set perfectly in all rivets and panel lines. If you want to be on the safe side, cut the decal along the panels lines and push the decals into every rivet / make a small hole with a needle and use strong setting solution and pressure to make sure decal is applied fully in every surface detail. That is the key. How you remove the carrier film is then second priority. You can use white spirit and go under the carrier film with a brush, use tweezers or even just peel it off with sticky Patafix. All works as long as decal is set perfectly. About drying time 8-10h like Frank mentioned doesn´t work for me. I give them min. 24h to completely dry. If you have some spares, test it. But the only way to do it successfully is smooth surface to prevent air bubbles under the decal and perfect set in all recesses.

Thanks for your comments mates 😊
White spirit will be my next attempt, I see the whole thing as a learning experience.
Thanks bug hunter for the article, I have already printed it out.

White spirit doesn´t help, if decals are applied incorrect - just fyi

I concur, nice job. Re: the Eduardargh! Decals, I don't even bother to peel now. I just make sure the surface is smooth, bed them down with setter/softener, then after a period of settling/bedding in. Varnish them within an inch of their life. 🤟🥸👍

Thank you bughunter 😊 I can honestly recommend this kit. The fit is very good, and the detailing is also decent. The small number of parts also ensures that construction progresses quite quickly.
