Personal Interest:
This model represents the SM-2ER Surface-to-Air Missile employed by the US Navy cruisers and destroyers in the Persian Gulf throughout my tour of duty in Operation Southern Watch. Although these missiles were primarily intended for fleet defense, they were also greatly useful as a deterrent against Iranian attack on US forces throughout the region.
