Personal interest:
This model represents a Mirage F.1EQ flown by the Iraqi Air Force during my service in Operation Southern Watch. Though the Iraqi Air Force had lost 65 Mirage F.1EQ aircraft during the Gulf War, 23 survived and were in operation. Iraqi Mirage F.1EQ pilots were trained in France and were superior to the Soviet-trained MiG pilots, so even though the Mirage was dated, it still represented a threat to coalition air forces.
