Personal Interest:
During my tour at Ft. Carson, Air Defense Artillery was a consumer of the weather data I provided. Wind and atmospheric pressure data were useful for optimizing the effectiveness of anti-aircraft weapons. Air Defense Artillery of the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) operated the FIM-92 Stinger to protect ground forces from aerial attack.
