@nikfrost: unfortunately, yes. This might be due to an older printer they have, and I would expect the latest ones they sell to be much better and smoother. Sanding is very difficult (as you can see, I didn't even try it). Some people have suggested using fillers to mask the low res of the print, like paint or plaster.

Aha! nice find. Those are really cool! Scale Production has some gems. I ended up getting the silver 16" BBS RS. Now that I see these, I feel like this was maybe an obvious choice!
