Finished my model of the destroyer escort USS England. This Buckley class ship was named after Ensign John C. England, who died during the Pearl Harbor attack while saving several of his shipmates.
Based on the Trumpeter 1/350 kit, and the Five Star Models detail set. 20 mm guns by Bunker Studio. I strongly recommend the Trumpeter kit, but have mixed feelings about the FSM photoetch, mostly due to unclear instructions (for a full deion of trials and tribulations, check marcellorosa.com/1-350ussenglandde-635
This was my first attempt at a resin base. I wanted to show England at anchor in Palau, taking a well deserved break in the period between sinking 6 Japanese submarines and being hit by a Kamikaze. This was only partially successful. I can see the propellers and rudders, as intended, but need to get better at chasing away the bubbles (see last picture).
