I've been away for a while, doing lots of other things - trip to Ireland, trip to Paris. New shed. Floors refinished upstairs. Painted all the rooms upstairs. A new Rickenbacker. Oh yeah, and working my butt off at the factory. But I have not lost my passion for modeling. I have too many projects started, but just couldn't resist starting another. I wasn't too interested in the Wildcat until I saw a few really good Wildcat builds that inspired me. So I did what I always do - bought 3 Wildcat kits, even though I have 1 started from way way back and another still sealed in the box. I justified it by planning a 'Cat' family build. I have to 2 Hellcats just about ready for top coat, but I will wait until I have 2 Wildcats at the same level and then do all the top coats at the same time. The Eduard kit is wonderful so far. Even the tricky fiddly part was a fun challenge. I will try my method on the second Wildcat build and document it so I can post it here to help others. Although I like detailing the cockpit, I don't go crazy because I know it won't be seen again. I did not need any filler on the cowling seam!
