to fill in an empty space in my downstairs display cabinet, im gonna be building a small diorama to take up the space.
the dimensions are 25 x 73 centimeters, not much but enough for me. the airfield im planning will have a controltower/terminal building (based on the old Eindhoven airport Welschap tower) and will feature 2 or 3 aircraft. since i wanna do this in a late 40's/early 50's setting, im thinking about a combination of Boeing stratocruiser, Douglas DC-3, DC-4 or DC-6. could go for early turboprops (L188 Electra and/or Vickers Vanguard) at a later point.
im thinking a South American setting (thinking Los Dopicos, the capital of San Theodoros, from "TinTin and the Picaros"). i might put on a DC-3 in Santaero livery, as i think a Boeing 707 might be a bit too big for it.
