Chris, What a cool choice of finish on this one, very timely. Loved everything about your Typhoon. What's next, a F-35 in Sukhoi Su-57 camo & markings?? Catch Ya, Logan

Great stuff Chris. Most inspiring! I really like how you depicted the props by not including them. Cool effect .

I like this (not mainstream) color. Your engine with all that detailing and under carriage looks pretty good too. Nice kit!

Thanks mate!
It's a very nice kit, I'm trying to build models of cars I or friends of mine owned from my youth. This would be one of mine, the color is true but mine was a 267 with 2 speed power glide, at the time of building I wasn't aware of Texas 3D Customs so it's got the kit engine

Absolutely cool 🙂 I love travelling back in time - through my shelf 😉 Sadly, most of the cars of my youth aren't available as a model kit (I'm German). So only three made it in my shelf: my 1996 Accord Aerodeck (Wagon), my 1993 Honda Del Sol and 1968 Beetle. The only I am starting to work on will be my 1988 Firebird Formula. There I have to transform thd 1992 by Monogram. That's the nearest to get.

I have no love for the Chevelle. I don't know why.
I do know that you build a very nice model 👍🏻

Hi @ DerMattes I took a fairly strategic path with the build expecting troubles, the kit didn't disappoint me there.the fuselage is split into 4 pieces, 2 front halves and 2 rear halves with the break right behind the wing, there's a step at the joint no matter how you build it either lengthwise or across the section, I added a strip of .010" lengthwise to shim out the sides (widening the rear section) then super gluing the joint and the seam, the wings top and bottom alignment pins do not correspond to the alignment holes, I cut them off and aligned the top and bottom halves as I went, the wings should droop allowing the outriggers to contact the horizontal but they do not. There is a very good tutorial on line on how to fix the issue, I decided to live with it. Aftermarket decals, Tamiya paint and that's that….hope that helps.

I was indeed expecting a CF-121 Redhawk (aka "Stratocaster") to appear some day in our newsfeed... Good job!

I couldn't live with the armored glass vent windows so made new ones from acetate sheet and installed them "open"

Thank you very much!
The windows were a simple (well simple compared to other work) job of scanning the Nazca decals sheet of the cabin windows (he includes the windows as decals) then cutting the paper scan out, using pva, gluing it to the side of the model and using a grinding tool in a Dremel to drill and grind out the shape created by the paper decal. Then re-wet the paper template loosening the pva glue and scrubbing away the paper template...easy as sliding on ice.

Ha, piece'a'cake!!! 😉
Thanks mate for the detailed explanation. I had a similar problem civilizing my Focke Wulf Fw-200 from a (military) C-, to the civil A-version but dreaded the effort and doubted my skill. So I chose a different approach.
Again. The -8 is a beauty and all the effort you put in catches the attention. For civil aviation my model of the year.
