Mk I Television Dalek

The bulk of the kit is a conventional injection-moulded affair, detail is nice and the fit is generally solid. However the centre section gives a few "garage" kit vibes. You are handed flat templates and need to cut and position components manually. No alignment guides, just your eye, ruler and a bit of patience. Accuracy matters here, especially for symmetry. Although some images show slightly wonky slats on the real thing.

Once assembled, the kit captures the TV era Dalek aesthetic beautifully. I'm going for the classic grey scheme that some might call boring but for me it’s pure nostalgia. When I think back to watching Doctor Who as a child it’s the grey Daleks that stuck with me...cold, menacing and utterly iconic. Plus I’ve got the movie version still to build which will be a lot more colourful.
