Pan Am Flight 202 was a Boeing 377 Stratocruiser (N1039V) that crashed in the Amazon Basin on April 29, 1952, killing all 50 people on board. The flight was en route from Rio de Janeiro to Port of Spain, Trinidad, as part of a longer journey from Buenos Aires to New York. The exact cause of the crash was never definitively determined, but investigators theorized that engine failure, specifically a propeller blade failure leading to an engine separation, was the likely cause.
