Maksim Kurmaz AuthorFinally I have removed the masks... and discovered that I missed a tiny gap under the canopy, and it became a bit foggy 🙁 The matt varnish also didn't lay down nicely - probably next time I will need 0.4 nozzle. In a couple of days I will attach everything and complete the model.

Well, the ejection seat is not completely incorrect but very schematic, and if you want to open the canopy, you cannot go with it. The front hood (not sure how it's called) seems to be oversized. The side instrument panels are quite fine for the scale, but the decal for the front has incorrect color and size, so - I would invest in a resin or 3D decals.
The worst part is indeed the ordnance. Bullpup missiles look fine but bombs and MERs are wrong.

Maksim KurmazFor the masks made from the film, they stick pretty well but still don't hold curves. I cut Kabuki paper masks using these as a template.

Maksim KurmazThe kit is probably targeted to kids because it is very easy to build and has just minimal level of detail. While the general shape of the aircraft might be accurate, it has very pronounced and mostly random panel lines not corresponding the prototype. The cockpit is just fantasy, and the ejection seats don't even resemble real ones. The landing gear are too smooth and lack detail, and most parts are too thick for the scale. But it saves the learners from frustration.
The kit shares the same stores with the combat "A" version. You need to pay attention that the ASM missile is not correct, but the bombs are OK for the type.
The decals have quite a low resolution and sometimes wrong color, but are thin enough and lay well. There are quite a number of stensils, and they are positioned correctly on the painting scheme, but I would recommend a replacement.

Maksim KurmazI used these decals, and I can't say I'm particularly happy with them. First of all, they're a bit off-scale - bigger than 1:72. Second, the transparent layer is not quite clear and transparent, it produced silvering at some places although I applied regular amount of Tamiya solution. There are not enough stensils, and the instruction is of a low quality. I would not recommend.

Maksim Kurmaz AuthorThank you all; this really a bit different topic. In general, I don't understand those who build the same P-51 and Bf-109 all the time. My intention is to learn as many wonderful designs as possible. By making them myself I'm paying tribute to the engineers who put all their passion and expertise into their creations. The more originality in the aircraft the better is fun and experience from modelling.
