Using the old M47 OOTB.
The previous owner had slabbed on some shiny dark green, probably enamel paint, so thick that there are runners in the paint.

Ron van Wiggen AuthorThis kit is great, but I ran into some serious issues while painting.
First the previous owner has sploshed on some shiny dark green paint, probably enamel. The green for this tank is a mix of Tamiya XF-61 dark green and XF-69 NATO black. The yellow and brown are AK earth yellow and earth brown.
The yellow was very thin & runny, with poor coverage. I think I did at least a dozen layers. The brown was a lot better.
When removing the masking tape the Tamiya paint came off from the old green paint. I managed to fix that.
Then a new, to me, satin varnish was used, which initially just ran off of the paint! A double layer and some extra brushing fixed that too.
