What could be better than a Hasegawa F-35A? How about an F-35B in Beast Mode! This kit was a very”quick” build - which ONLY took me 4 weekends. ?
Having built Hasegawa’s F-35A, I opted to go for their B variant over other kit manufacturers for two reasons:
1) I knew it was going to be an idiot-proof build (a pre-requisite for me)
2) It was the only kit where the nozzle could fully rotate from flight, to STOVL to VTOL positions - so I was sold.
The difference between this build and my early F-35A was mostly the color used for the have Glass paint - as well as the basic up-detailing of the wheel cabling and the lovely rotating nozzle. The Have Glass paint was the challenge, because my first attempt used Mission Model versions that color - which really made the jet look too purple - so a weekend was spent sanity checking how I could do it better and much more accurately.
Many thanks to my better half for checking my coloring - I could never do many of these kits without her help.
