I take a seat too, I saw this Hunter in this livery sometimes at local airshows. Possible that are some detail pictures on my computer, if you need any further references.

Back on this project already two years old. As time goes by.

Great choice with Revell's 72 Hunter. Regarding fit and detail this is imho the best 72 kit I had in my modelling career. Will take a 🪑!

Following with interest. I just wated to ask where you got the decals from, but you already answered that.

Thank you all mates.
There is a first layer of liquid decal film. I think it would be better to varnish all.

I'll be able to read the newspaper with big letters and few words 😛
I can't wait to see it started, and I can't wait to see it finished either.
I'm glad you've taken up the project again after all this time 👍

Following. I think the Hunter is one of the best looking jets ofall times.

After two days of drying, the verdict is without appeal. I have diluted too much and the color is not covering enough. In addition, the painting reveals many places to review, between the flaws (black arrows) and the drips (red arrows), everything needs to be reviewed. Let s go for a sanding session

Now it's time to varnish all in gloss before decals! Hope my homemade decals will be fine. The ardest step of this build!!
Mates, do you thing that Klir is a good choice for a good gloss layer?

Hi Bozo, if you are thinking Alclad's Klear Kote, I had poor results with it because it is taking long to dry and collects dust.
My preferred gloss bases are MrColor GX100 or GX112, Hataka Clear Gloss, MRP Gloss. AK Gloss, Tamiya LP Clear Gloss, all lacquer based and heavily diluted.
Tamiya X-22 is also nice but I can't achieve the same shine as with Gunze or MRP.
Also, do not apply too many coats, decals don't need much and you don't want to drown all the panel details.
If possible, before coating, gently sand surface with fine grit sponge, Tamiya 3000 is my choice. You can also repeat in some areas if the gloss cote goes matt on wing roots commonly. Then just respray gloss over sanded. You don't want any dust or particles on the surface and don't be tempted to fix surface with gloss.
Whatever you use, let it dry for two days before working with decals.

Great job so far 👍
This container could be used to cover the model and thus prevent dust accumulation during the drying of the gloss layer.

Hello cuajete,
You're right. The dust is the worst foe of the varnish.

Well, after the right side, my custom decals are too thick. An halo appears after another layer of gloss varnish. I want to finish this model but my work will not be the best result. To be continued.

Thanks mates,
First of all, the revell's kit is really a great model, the best to represent an Hawker Hunter. And i amuse myself so I continue.

Thanks all mates for your like.
I swear to finish this kit as soon as possible (as the Nid17, camel, L19, Lancaster, Shoki, Atlantic... 🙂)

I love it. Are you doing a wash? A bit of panal highlighting? I think it would add depth and (even more) interest to it.
1 28 September, 18:43
Thanks all
@ Michael, yes I think so. I will do a wash work to the main panels.
To be continued

The Hunter always looked cool, your model makes it look more prominently cool. Well done!

Album info
I disperse. As soon as the Sandringham ready for painting I invest myself in another project:
the Papyrus Hunter.
At 1/72, the Revell model under reference 04188 allows the exact version.
Then I reproduced under Word the characteristic markings of this beautiful plane. The font Times news roman in size 14 is perfect. I printed them on sheets of transparent decals. Now, you have to varnish the decal sheets. What product do you use? Thank you for asking me about that.
I hope my decals aren't too thick.
