Cockpit is installed and fuselage is assembled. 

 

 

Used a lot of putty and did a lot of sanding too. 

 

Some plastic is cutted out for new wheel bay. 

Wings are assembled with resin wheel bay installed. 

Also painted in proper color. 

 

I laminated many parts to get some more realistic shape. 

This steel tube replaced plastic one molded on fuselage. 

Also replaced huge plastic root of pitot tube with steel one. 

 

 

 

Air brake had a really bad shape, but you have a putty, don't you!?

Before assemblig fuselage and wings, I applied Mr.Surfacer to check the surface after all that fairing, sanding and scribing. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Windshield frame painted inside. 

Front light needed some putty. 

Windshield in place. 

Overall primed with Mr.Surfacer 1000. 

 

 

 

Few coats of Gunze Mr.Base White 1000 

 

Red color is Gunze H-29 Salmon Pink, quite darkened with H-3 Red. 

 

 

Glasurit gloss coat for protection and like a base for the decals. 

 

 

 

Italeri (Cartograf) decals ready to apply. 

Decals are great, but they don't completely fit the Airfix kit, so I did a lot of trimming and patching. 

 

 

Gloss finish sanded with Micromesh and polished with Tamiya Compound 

 

 

 

Did some work on the underside...
