The control panel decals are horrendously inaccurate. I ordered after market ones

My progress so far ! Except for some puttying work on the control panels, all the parts of the command module are ready for priming (or already are).

The kit comes with 3 astronauts figurines. They are depicted with a EVA helmet, which they didn’t have in the command module. I sanded the « helmet » down do have something approximately looking as a head.

I glued an aluminium sheet on the back of the heat shield. The heat shield itself doesn’t need painting , as it will be hidden by the service module

I just painted the grey-green (14 sky grey / 1 dark green, ICM paints) interior color. It’s a funny color, it ranges between light blue, turquoise, light grey and green depending on lighting.

I realized that ICM 1074 pale blue was pretty much spot on for the interior color.
All the interior pieces are painted now

As you can expect from a 1970 kit, details are lacking and there are inaccuracies. I also had to do some heavy sanding on the control panels, but it wasn't a problem as they are completely flat. Overall, considering its age, I think this is a good kit.
