None of this will ever be seen. the grey is just regular Tamiya XF-53 Neutral Grey. at this point, I wasn't aiming to be color accurate

The upper deck has four ejection seats but they are the wrong model. They are similar to the ACE II on F-15s. But its all I have!

These are fishing weights made of lead. Make sure to wash our hands after holding them.

Dry fitting the cockpit module. you can see that the surface detail only has over-sized panel lines.

Getting rid of the glue seams after the fuselages are put together. I am using a sander tool for curved surfaces from UMM-USA

Adding in some new rivets. Just enough to represent them. B-52s have thousands of rivet lines criss-crossing its surface. What I am doing is a mere tiny fraction.

Using Tamiya masking tape and cutting the mask directly on the clear plastic

The fitting of the main cockpit window was excellent. it fits like a glove. but the smaller overhead windows was challenging with poor fitting issues

Album info

This kit is MASSIVE. Not just the box, but also the model. Each wingspan is around 50cm and the cockpit module is 25cm long... and that is not counting the rest. The box and the parts are impressive. But after the shock-and-awe, the reality starts to sink in. For example, the ejection seats are not accurate as per the Ejection site (ejectionsite.com/b-52.htm) and the surface detail is bare minimum with oversized panel lines.
