The box is just a goner at this point. When I first found the box, it was crawling with live termites! giving me the goosebumps!!

Image taken immediately after the clear plastics were installed. To my surprise, the clear plastics are very brittle and thin. I felt I need to handle them extra careful.

My method of masking is using masking putty. They seem to perform better than the blue-tack that I used to work with many years ago

These are the bottles I used to layering-up the upper surface area. The basic surface with chipping is too raw. I intend to give it another 2-3 layers of other analogous colors with different level of subtlety

These are the templates that I used to help me layer the other analogous colors. These are from Uschi van de Rosten. I complimented with with another set from Iwata Artool Texture FX.

Using the middle-size template. the key is to turn, twist, move, relocate (and never stay still) while the airbrush keeps spraying. the action will create a unique layering effect which add richness to the surface detail.

A top down view of the upper surface after getting extra layering using the airbrush template. You can see the level of complexity of the paint and bare metal has increased. It is no longer just one monotonous color, buat a combination of others.

Album info

My attempt at finishing this forgotten kit that i have in my stash. Sadly, termites have gotten to it first - devulging the box almost into pulp. Lucky for me, the content is still in good shape including the decal sheet. Progress has so far been smooth. It is an old kit but with great potential.
