I recommend reconsidering this. I used them on my Pinkie and they're disappointing, the film is clearly (nomen omen!) visible after even few layers of varnish.

I think riveters are the way. Even if you go to far or sideways, you can fill them.
I was afraid of them at first, but if I ever build another Skyvan, I'll use them (same with SA330 Pumas or maybe a Boeing 247, which is also in my stash 😄)

Who's building the Mi-1M they found rivets where the carrier film doesn't show I thought

The best result I could achieve with quintas rivets is on the Pinkie's roof
(lots of Tamiyas strong softener and few layers of varnish involved)
