Back to OLD School for this kit. I paid a bit more than I should've for this kit, but who could resist this beauty, right? I've never tackled a kit with metal parts before, so this should be a thing. Strap in for takeoff~

Hello Greg,
You have smart readings.
Ouf, it's a kit for confirmed modelers.
I take a seat.

Welcome Bozo!
First real challenge… how do I drill out the metal cowling to fit the DC motor? I might need to expand my drill bit collection…

Freightdog Models will release a new Percival Prentice in November.

Haha! OF COURSE there is. I am also singularly responsible for an Udet Flamingo kit showing up 10 minutes after I scratchbuilt one. 😄

Welcome Alec. This is my first time using significant metal parts on a plastic model. It's a weird experience because the fit is a bit more of a challenge than usual.

Had to remove and reset the engine cowling , but I think the fit is a bit better. Plenty of gaps for the wings, so I'll be busy with putty and sanding for a while.

It was a bit of a tight squeeze, but I got the pilots in. I had a bit of trouble getting the motor in place - another full metal challenge, but I got it done. Next up, making the canopy I think.

Masking the thin canopy was a bit of a challenge. Not a lot of lines to follow. Also, I had to try and fill the gap between the canopy and the engine cowling. I'm hoping I didn't suck CA glue into the cabin...

Thanks killoosh. As you may notice, I have a LOT of Tintin-based projects (also a fair number of Studio Ghibli ones). This kit is quite rough, but I'm trying my best.
