Tamiya 1:32 F-14A

The box 

I’ve bought the resin seats and photoetch panels for the cockpit. Buying aftermarket stuff is something I almost never do but this part needed improvement. Simply putting decals on the flat panel for imitating buttons on a 1:32 jet sounds lame. 

Before being Primed in black 

Painted and shaded. My method is to put black primer and uniform main color layer on the surface, add white stripes up and down and black panel shadow then spray more diluted main color layer. 

 

Here is what the shading looks like before being unified by a main color layer. 

Turned out to be kinda too thick for this one. I’ll put extra effort when weathering that side. 

Everything including other components is now ready to be coated with gloss varnish.  

Nice sheets of Cartograf decals I also got. I have chosen the second scheme. 

I can see why people say Cartograf decals are the best. It’s because they are. Thin and sticks to the surface hard.

Weathering has begun 

 

It’s large surface to weather all. Patience and relaxation are what I need to finish nicely.
