Hobby Boss EF-111A Raven

This is all the PE I'm gonna use from that ancient Eduard set for the Academy kit, but at least the front panel will be more or less accurate now 🙂 

Adapted the pedestal parts 

So this is the basic idea... still have to do some real seatbelts now. 

That's not gonna work.... :-/ so this bulkhead will be left out of this build 

I always find this strange: why provide engines and then NOT provide any means to open the bird up to show them.
Anyway, the front 10mm has to be chopped off those engines and luckily there's still these aft moulded bulkheads that'll hold 'em in place still nicely aligned. 

I decided the nozzles weren't detailed enough after all and inaccurate at that, so the whole engine and bulkhead thing isn't a thing anymore cause I'll shove these Reskit nozzles in at the end 🙂 

Getting these in nice and flush is going to be challenging too 

This a massive kit again.... 🙂 

Though the instruction doesn't make any mention of this at all, you CAN build this bird with wings fully swept and all flaps 'n slats retracted.
But not gonna do that of course :-P 

Some weird hole in the boat tail -any part or instruction MIA- so I solved it this way, totally inaccurate, but at least it will look nice 😉 

Painted the rear of the instrument film. This will help visibility a lot., 

Butcher work for both ECM housing done now too 

Something you have to construct yourself on this Pig.... :-/ 

And the seats have some belts now. Time to start painting some parts 

Just found the perfect diameter piece of metal that fits perfectly in the holes for those ginormous elevators. The 2mm stubs on those elevators just don't cut it you see. 

Made damn sure I won't be pushing them through, with a little thingy inside 🙂 

Just saved myself from a major oopsy if I was to still be able to shove those Reskit nozzles in at the end o_0 #bulkheads 

Elevator axles done 🙂 These won't be falling off :'-) 

Too bad that #BamModels closed shop (for all you next Pig builders), but damn these intakes are nice 🙂 

Cockpit is done too now. That old Eduard PE wasn't a success, should have gotten a vinyl set :-/ 

And I'm gonna look for a decal to fix that horrible big screen

Time for some assembly work... 

The Reskit nozzles are a full kit in themselves... o_0 sooo many parts... 

...that need to be separated from the cast, which I hate so much... 

The Pig is ready for the paint shop (as are the nozzles and the R-11 fuel truck that tags along with this build)
