Stachelschwein!
August 1, 2025Regarding the most forward antenna as to be correct, I drilled that hole. Top part shows what Eduard thinks as positions. But that clearly troubles the MG151/20 cover as installed (arced with pen). Eduard doesn't mention this cover. Parts are included in their FW 190 kits.
August 1, 2025Lower antenna positions marked by Eduard and arrows.
August 1, 2025Kager drawings seem to be a mix of several pictures I found of different Neptune aircraft. The 3 positions clearly differ. The lights are about correct as I can see on some pictures.
August 1, 2025The most aft antenna does appear to be more aft on the picture of Black 8.
August 1, 2025So this is what I think should be the more correct location WITH the MG-151/20 cover installed. E is Eduard. Arrow is mine. And my locations are regarding the rivet patterns on top of the wing, since rivets are most often made at spars or construction ribs.
August 1, 2025It looks like 2,5 mm lights are about the right size. Then the cutout will be 6 mm wide, fitting in between rows of rivets as to be in correct 'structural' position.
August 1, 2025So the Kagero drawings are a bit wide regarding Eduard's kit and rivets. Though seized 1/48, drawings and kit do not match 100%. Eduard doesn't mention any lights but do have a decal 37?38 for a single? light?
August 1, 2025Only few of FW 190 had lights in the left leading edge, this seems to be the position. Picture is of a non standard configuration of a F-8 version. The clear bulge (gun camera try-out) is NOT the position of a MG-151/20 installment. That is a bit more to the left, covered with a disc.
August 1, 2025Some of the FuG-217 Neptune J antenna's. However, this appears to differ slightly between aircraft. The right wing of Krause's FW-190 hasn't got the MG151/20 covers on the top wing.
The picture on the lower left is NOT of the same aircraft, look at the camouflage pattern. Also the length of the FuG 217 rods are different on aircraft.
August 1, 2025The FuG 217 aft antenna looks more aft. There appears to be a MG-151/20 bulge on the inner side of these same FuG antennas (middle 2). Hardly noticeable are the lower antenna's but they are inside of the inner MG-151/20 spent casing exit.
Also no loop antenna below the black cross, but with the mounting bulge.

August 3, 2025little lenses 2,5 mm, drilled in from behind to simulate a light bulb
August 3, 2025Build up layers of UV hardened clear epoxy resin, it is a bit bulbous, but will be sanded flat
August 3, 2025After DSPIAE super fine vile..
August 3, 2025Happy
August 3, 2025With some clear Alclad it looks the part.
August 3, 2025The most recent Eduard 3d printed cockpit.. quite obvious those printlines.
And it’s not really an A-6 more of an A-8. On all parts that’s mentioned as well, so why sell it as an A-6?
August 4, 2025That placard seems to be a bit too big Eduard. Used a old leftover decal from a previous build.
August 4, 2025From the A-6 onwards, there are some structural stiffeners? just aft of the wheel well.
August 5, 2025Just the base of the loop antenne on this black 8. And the whip antenna has a square base.
August 5, 2025Omask foam pads to masks. Very curious as how good they are. Very promising.
August 5, 2025The deicing system installed. It looks to be installed on black 8, but IMHO for a nightfighter it is a must. It came with the gear door PE set from Eduard.
August 7, 2025Gelb.
August 7, 2025For the sharp onlookers: it’s the AGO unusual camouflage. I mean, everything is unusual about this black 8, so why not go for it all the way.
August 7, 2025First the green lower band.
August 7, 2025
August 7, 2025
August 7, 2025Then the greyish band
August 7, 2025Too defined. But working on that.
August 7, 2025And airbrushed them into each other. On the picture I have in my Classic Publication book, there are remnants of marks that there were indeed two straight lines.
August 7, 2025I forgot I had masked the exhaust panels too big. Corrected it.
August 7, 2025
August 7, 2025Also on that picture, the top engine panel with the slots, a slightly darker hue to it.
August 7, 2025
August 7, 2025
August 7, 2025Tried to mimic field spray brushes with the smallest setting on my airbrush.
August 7, 2025Next the crosses..
August 9, 2025Airbrushed the markings and the trim tabs. The black 8 is too thinly outlined with white to be sure it works, so that will be a decal.
Next, clear coat
August 9, 2025Removed the carrier film from the Eduard decals.. found out that was quite easy..
August 9, 2025Because I did so by accident on decal that I still had to apply.. which didn’t have any carrier film anymore. This old goody came to rescue.
August 9, 2025And though very fragile (tried it on a different piece) it worked.
August 10, 2025With some Mr paint smoke it looks a little more war weary.

August 10, 2025Fug 217 Neptun J by 3DF print. Really nice! Bit hard to take the print frames off.
